Single Vision Lenses

Single vision spectacle lenses are lenses with a single focus point that are used to correct only distance vision or near vision or intermediate vision. Most people under the age of 40 need only a single vision correction. For example, for someone who needs spectacles only for driving or for reading. Single vision lenses correct for only one distance. If they correct for far distance the person must accomodate to see clearly up close. If the person cannot accomodate, they may need a seperate pair of single vision glasses for near distances, or else use a multi focal lens.

Crystal Green & Crystal Blue

Don’t settle for regular eyeglass lenses when you can have WELISAM CRYSTAL lenses. WELISAM CRYSTAL lenses out-perform standard lenses by helping you to see better, look better and live better when you are wearing your glasses. These almost invisible lenses are extremely durable, Superior scratch resistant, and very easy to clean. New technology, anti-glare properties are joined with scratch protection and a super hydrophobic coating that repels water. These lenses are ideal for fitting in semi rimless frames, thus enabling you to wear the latest in fashionable eyewear.

KT Bifocal Lenses

A bifocal lens is created with two different areas of vision correction, the upper part of the lens is generally used for distance vision, while the lower part is used for near vision. Typically a person with myopia would have one section of a prescription lens that has a certain diverging power while another section of the lens would have a lower diverging power for close-up work. Similarly a person with hyperopia would have one section of the lens with a certain converging power and another section with a greater power for close-up work.

Photochromic Lenses (PG)

Photochromic lenses are spectacle lenses that darken automatically when exposed to sunlight and they return to normal once back indoors. An added benefit is that photochromic lenses shield eyes from UVA and UVB rays. Almost all types of lens materials and designs, including high index lenses, bifocal lenses and progressive lenses can be added with photochromic variant. It’s definitely a good idea to consider Photochromic lenses even for children as they tend to be outdoors (and thus need good UV protection) and the eyes continue to develop upto the age of 12.

Damage from the sun accumulates over time, so protecting the eyes should begin as early as possible. Because of this, lenses that filter glare are essential. PG lenses are ideal because they not only absorb UV light, but they change as the intensity of light changes.

1.59 Polycarbonate Lenses ( PC )

Polycarbonate is the safest material for kids, providing upto 10 times the impact resistance of other lens materials. PC lenses are 25% thinner than regular plastic lenses and almost 50% lighter than glass lenses. They have a very high impact resistance -10 times stronger than regular plastic lenses. PC lenses are used for safety glasses, sports sunglasses and children’s eyewear. PC lenses are very light and can be ground quite fine into thin lenses. Hence, they are highly recommended for use in rimless frames. PC materials block 100% UV radiation and thus protects the eyes from the damaging rays of the sun. This is also why most sunglasses lenses are made out of PC material.

PC lenses however have one shortcoming – they tend to get scratches easily ( as compared to other plastic material lenses) and can be tinted only to a limited degree.

Progressive Lenses

Progressive lenses provide continuous vision zones from distance to near including intermediate vision,

Progressive lenses are also a better option to suit computer usage. They are the best lens choice for users above 40 years of age. Progressive lenses offer a total solution for anyone who is seeking a single pair of eyeglasses to optimize clarity. Before the advent of progressive lenses people would have to change their eyeglasses for different purposes.

Adapting to your Progressive lenses  :

When you are fitted with your first pair of progressive lenses, you may need a short adaptation period to become fully comfortable using the lenses. This might take only a few minutes, or it could take a few days.

1.61, 1.67 Aspheric Design Lenses

Aspheric design lenses are flatter, thinner and give lesser distortion than traditional design lenses. Aspheric lenses are an excellent choice for moderate to high prescription powered lenses. Usage of Aspheric design lenses reduces the magnified and “bug-eye” effect when worn and increases cosmetic appeal (especially in spectacle wearers with high power).

Free Form Digital Progressive Lenses

Free Form Digital Progressive lenses are Progressive lenses manufactured using a new digital free form technology. The new lens is far superior to conventional progressive lenses but not as widely spread as the older designs.

In the last two decades, tremendous technological advancements and computer modeling enabled lens manufacturers to develop and produce a new kind of Free Form Digital Progressive Lens ( FFD PALs). This lens has many substantial advantages over a conventional progressive lens, providing the user with an almost perfect, distortion free, vision correction at all ranges.
